Venkat handles IP operations and is responsible for counseling, eliciting IP across universities, managing IP portfolio and commercializing technologies through Techgrapher. He is a chemist by training and researcher at heart with a Ph.D from Tufts University.
Prior to joining Techgrapher, Venkat has handled various assignments in IP across different technological domains dealing with corporate clients. His interest towards commercializing research products began during his tenure at Technology Transfer Office in Tufts University and gathered IP experience as a Patent Analyst at CPA Global, Michigan by examining and analyzing PCT patent applications for USPTO. He strongly believes IP sensitization must start at the Higher Educational Institution, the engine which fuels innovation for greater needs of the society.
Muhammed Aslam Sharief
Vice President- Intellectual Property Advisory
Aslam is an Advocate (Patent Attorney) with expertise in University IP Management. In his last 5 year assignment, he was Senior Project Advisor at IIT Madras, providing Legal advice and overseeing the day-to-day due-diligence operations of the Intellectual Property Management Cell.
He is currently preparing his Doctoral thesis at IITM on enhancing the market-worth of University IP. His interests include primarily, elicitation of commercialize-able IP from Indian academia for nation-building.
